| The Burial Office as used in Torrington
may be seen here as a PDF file. It makes a laminated A5 card. |
NOTES The foregoing is a simple form of Office which serves as a standard when no special form has been printed and when a Requiem is not appropriate. For the Requiem the Mass Book (q.v.) is sufficient. The coffin is covered during the service with a rich pall and surrounded with candles. The lighted paschal candle stands nearby. As the corpse is taken from the church there is said: Into Paradise may the Angels lead thee: at thy coming may the Martyrs receive thee, and bring thee into the holy city, Jerusalem. |
